This study is designed to understand the barriers and facilitators using evidence-based support for tobacco smoking cessation among smokers with SCI and their healthcare providers. The overarching goal of this proposed study is to reduce disparities in smoking and smoking-related health problems among those with SCI. We will achieve this by obtaining data that can illuminate issues that prevent successful attempts to quit smoking by those with SCI and conducting an implementation trial in which we adapt an evidence-based program to promote quit attempts by smokers with SCI.
